Cheryl Friedman leads Lowe’s Innovation Labs, a global team that is building the future of home improvement retail. She oversees teams in R&D, ecosystem development, and applied innovation who leverage emerging technologies to accelerate the experiences customers expect today and develop the capabilities that will power tomorrow. Cheryl balances radical vision and ambiguity with operational excellence and accountability to ensure innovation delivers real value to Lowe’s.
Cheryl’s experience over the last 15 years spans the digital and physical worlds, as well as customers both two-legged and four-legged. Her customer-centric entrepreneurial career started when her finicky beagle needed a dog walker; she built a successful start-up addressing a gap in the pet services market. Cheryl then transitioned to Amazon where she spent seven years developing and leading innovative customer experiences and programs. Cheryl joined Lowe’s in 2018 to create transformative customer experiences at the intersection of e-commerce and brick-and-mortar retail.
Cheryl earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Maryland and an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. She lives in Seattle with her husband and two kids.
